Healthy ingredients
Numerous scientific studies confirm that chaga fungus is a source of many nutrients (just imagine, there are almost 200 of them).
Let's find out what benefits the main of them can bring for our bodies.
- Pterin - one of the main biologically active substances of chaga, it helps restore the body's performance and improves overall well-being.
- Polysaccharides provide energy, cardiovascular health, bowel, and liver health and promote healthy blood sugar.
- Agaric and humic acids restore damaged liver cells.
- Beta-D-glucan can modulate the immune system, normalize cholesterol, and blood sugar. This substance creates a strong protective mechanism against viruses, bacteria, carcinogens, and fungi.
- Betulin and bitulinic acid (triterpenes) have anti-inflammatory, antitumor properties and counteract the development of HIV. Betulinic acid is known to have an antiproliferative effect on breast cancer cells. Currently, active research on the anticancer action of this substance is continuing.
- Organic acids: oxalic, acetic, formic, vanilla, syringe, olive, and ionic. They participate in digestion and energy metabolism, activate intestinal motility, slow down the development of putrefactive bacteria and fermentation processes in the colon. Moreover, the compounds contribute to the spontaneous restoration of the acid balance of the blood.
- Phytosterol blocks the absorption of cholesterol in the blood. Of all phytosterols contained in the chaga mushroom, 45% is lanosterol, 25% are Inotodiols, and the remaining 30% are ergosterol, fecosterol, and several others. The tests showed a positive effect of Lanosterol and Inotodiol on cancer cells, while Lanosterol also had a positive effect on viral compounds.
- Lanosterol has antioxidant anti-cancer and immunomodulatory properties, but its content in the cultivated chaga is 3.6% compared to 45.4% in the wild Siberian one. It is soluble in boiling water, so it works the best when making chaga tea.
- Cellulose helps to clear the gastrointestinal tract. It is useful for people who are struggling with overweight and dysbiosis.
- Flavonoids have anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, and diuretic effects that help to eliminate toxins from the body.
- Melanin has strong antioxidant and gene-protective activity
- Macro and trace elements: copper, barium, zinc, iron, silicon, aluminum, calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, which are indispensable "building materials" for the effective functioning of our body.
The levels of germanium and zinc in Chaga are very high compared to other foods. Look at the diagram given by the authors of the study (as in the previous the case, measured in ppm, parts per million).

BEFUNGIN CHAGA
Chaga mushroom has found its application in pharmaceutics as well.
The medication called BEFUNGIN is made from alcoholic extract of chaga with the addition of cobalt salts.
It is mainly used for the treatment of ulcers and gastritis. Moreover, it is prescribed in the early stages of cancer to ease the course of the disease and to prevent side effects during treatment.
